CMSAA Montessori School | Commercial Exterior Design Project

This project involved creating a new exterior design vision for the CMSAA Montessori School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, transforming a tired 1950s school building into a modern, welcoming campus environment. The design focused on maximizing curb appeal while working within the school's budget for new siding and paint. A contemporary palette featuring Sherwin-Williams Peppercorn, Repose Gray, and Tricorn Black was selected to give the building a fresh, modern identity, complemented by warm Ipe wood accents at the entry to create a more inviting arrival experience for students and families. Board-and-batten siding, updated lighting, and refined architectural detailing were incorporated to elevate the overall appearance of the campus. The design also included a cohesive stain recommendation for the surrounding privacy fence to ensure the entire property felt unified and thoughtfully designed. The realistic rendering allowed the school leadership team to confidently visualize the transformation before beginning renovations.
